The Last Entry is a theatrical XR performance that explores individual experiences of (data) loss on the internet.
The internet, still portrayed as an inexhaustible archive of collective knowledge, reveals itself to be an unstable and selective dispositif of digital memory: platforms are abandoned, archives closed, data deleted — decisions that actively determine the continued existence of digital spaces, and whose loss represents a significant rupture for digital culture, creativity, and social interaction.
Disappearance on the internet is not a coincidence; it has become political and is the result of economic interests, political interventions, and algorithmic decisions.
Taking the form of a performative memorial site in VRChat, The Last Entry creates a resonance space that brings together documentary practice, digital performance, and collective participation. It unfolds as a walk-in landscape of memory, where personal experiences of absence overlap and a new awareness of digital transience emerges.
The Last Entry was presented as part of the Digithalia festival at the Schauspielhaus Graz and the Digital Spring Festival ARGEkultur Salzburg and HAU Hebbel am Ufer Berlin.
