The main objective of this artistic research residency was to undertake a virtual reality study, providing audiences with an immersive travel experience through a selection of private, anonymously shared, and publicly accessible home uploads.
In collaboration with the study participants, a temporary and interactive space for discourse was established to scrutinize the ramifications of digital voyeurism and surveillance capitalism, and to explore the nexus between cultural exchange and exclusion, alongside the contentious issue of cultural appropriation.
The performance sessions took place from February 12 to 26 at the theater hall of the Goethe-Institut Madrid. In a lecture performance on February 8, the stage designer and artist Bettina Katja Lange (SO@P) provided insights into the creative process of the project's development. The project is also co-financed by the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony through tax funds based on the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament, and the Albert Köchlin Foundation.
The project Roaming Home - Not My Home, Not My Family is supported by the Goethe Institut Madrid and the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony through tax funds based on the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament, and the Albert Köchlin Foundation.
