Models have been an integral component of the architectural profession since at least the Renaissance period. As part of the design process, they can serve as a metaphorical representation to think about, communicate and negotiate future realisations.

The history of the model also reveals its scenographic and cinematographic affinities and thus the moments in which the model resists its conventional, representative function and becomes an independent, epistemic and ontological object. The model becomes the object of a dialectical fusion of original and copy, representation and presentation, past and present.

This project practises this synthesis in a model that draws its own genealogy. In it, an abstract chronology of its historical, linear origin is brought into dialogue with the actual landscapes that observe the extractivist and mineral ancestry of the digital model. This project is a fragmentary attempt to illuminate perspectives of the contemporary, virtual model through these two actions.
