This exhibition showcased the results of the summer term sudio I Am A Meme.

Through cultural practices of copying, sampling, mixing, recoding, and sharing, memes evolve into assemblages of cultural expression. As a significant portion of our social activities has shifted to virtual realms, memes have emerged as one of the most creative and vibrant forms of digital communication in recent years.

The design studio aimed to adapt the production model of meme culture as a transformative approach to iconographic architectural concepts, thereby engaging in speculative architectural practice within the context of contemporary internet and communication culture.

The exhibition showcased a curated selection of over 60 student projects, strategically arranged to emphasize spatial relationships and the interconnectedness of the semester’s design methodologies. Within this context, the design process was delineated by a pattern of serial and iterative work. The traditional notion of authorship gradually receded, merging into a collaborative ethos by the culmination of the semester.
