In this course, we sent students on an expedition. Thirteen different teams took on the role of interstellar travel bloggers, venturing out in search of the genealogy of virtual worlds. They wandered, observed, and meticulously documented their findings. Through logbooks, digital artifacts, and reflective essays on their journeys, they created blog entries and experimental micro-documentaries that artistically blend factual encounters with fictional narratives.
The undergraduate seminar was perceived as both a research expedition with unpredictable outcomes and an experiment designed to delve into the complexities and idiosyncrasies of digital realms. Its purpose was to illustrate the coexistence of physical and digital realms, shedding light on the inherent absurdities found within their overlaps.
